Hunter Valley is a popular getaway for Sydney siders and wine lovers. It is one of Australia’s best known wine regions since early 19th Century; currently there are over 120 wineries in the Hunter Valley.
We were in Pokolbin region of Hunter Valley, which is home to many of Australia’s popular wine labels. When you are driving to Hunter Valley from Sydney, Pokolbin is also the first region you will see and perhaps also the most popular.
A spectacular vineyard view from Tuscany Estate
We stayed at the Tuscany Estate, a very popular 4-star resort hotel in Pokolbin which is highly rated on Trip Advisor too! Located right in the heart of vineyards, wineries and restaurants, this resort hotel gives you one of the the best views of Brokeback ranges.
Tuscany Estate is just two hours drive from Sydney

A walk in the cozy information centre cum lobby gives you a peek into what you can experience during your Hunter Valley visit. There are free booklets of wine tours, beer tasting, cellar doors, best restaurants which is definitely helpful for both veteran and novice travellers. I am already thinking of a next trip with the information I have now
Most travellers should view Hunter Valley more than just a retreat, because you can indulge yourself here beyond wine and cheese tours and one trip is definitely short.
For now, I definitely recommend a short stay at the Tuscany Estate and here’s why!
1. The Vintage Feel
As someone who always borrowed mom’s vintage sarees and jewellery, I am kinda mad about anything Vintage be it jewellery, clothes, collectibles or even decor.
This boutique hotel has a vintage aura to it. The decor, hardwood furniture and even the washroom has old-style faucets
You will love it because its refreshing!

2. Love the Outdoors
You can choose rooms facing the olive trees or vineyards. In Winter the vineyard view is of dormant grapevine, but it still looks beautiful. We however chose the Olive grove room with a view of olive trees, dam and bush land, hoping to see kangaroos in the afternoon.

3. Awesome Food
Tuscany Estate has two restaurants, so if you just want to kick back and relax, all you got to do is is walk in their restaurants which are just 5 minutes away.
We ate lunch at the Broken Back restaurant which is famous for tapas, gourmet pizzas, pasta and barbecue! The best part about enjoying your meal here is Location, Location and Location! Sit outdoors and soak in the vineyard view along with some delicious food and lovely hospitality by their cheerful staff.
Broken Back restaurant at Tuscany Estate has a warm, countryside feel. This is an outdoor view.
We ordered Angel hair pasta tossed with pesto, rocket, kalamata olives and Binnorie Dairy fetta and Lamb pizza (the pizza was special of the day and not in their menu). Both dishes were delicious and the fresh ingredients just shined through! The lamb pizza is absolutely recommended!

During our evening stroll, we walked in again for coffee and enjoyed ourselves next to the fire place at Broken Back.
We dined at The Mill in evening. I suggest that your make prior reservations here because the restaurant is a popular location for dinner. It is indeed a great place for a romantic candle light dinner with your partner. The Mill is a 2 course minimum at $ 59 per person and 3 course is at $ 69 per person. I have not shared the food photos at The Mill as it was a candle light dinner and regrettably the food pics are dark
Food score: 8/10
4. Affordable Luxurious Experience
We all love luxurious travel experiences and when they are easy on your wallet, it’s even better! If you plan your getaways well in advance, Tuscany Estate will be an affordable luxurious experience for you an your partner whether you visit for two days or more.
If you book in advance, a room will cost you $ 130 or more per day and food is upwards of $ 250 (lunch and dinner included with drinks) per day.
